TuPac Shakur Biopic To Begin Casting On Monday

According to the BoomBox casting will begin on Monday March 21st for the up coming TuPac biopic. Morgan Creek Production plans on filming the story of the rappers life late this spring or early summer. The movie will be shot in Los Angeles, New York, and Georgia and will also include the rumors about his death.
After years of anticipation, it seems that Morgan Creek Pictures has finally gotten their ducks in a row and will begin filming a Tupac biopic in late Spring or early Summer. Set to be helmed by ‘Training Day’ director Antoine Fuqua and executed produced by none other than Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur, the film still doesn’t have a lead actor set and much of the other casting remains in-progress.
The move towards filming comes after years of collision between Shakur’s camp and the production company. Back in 2009, the two parties were involved in a $10 million lawsuit over rights to the Shakur story. The suit has since been resolved and all camps appear to be working together in a cooperative manner.
“I am confident that Morgan Creek will stay true to the common goal we share of depicting Tupac’s life in a way that will allow the world to see the authenticity of his artistry, his hopes and his life goals,” Afeni Shakur said in a statement.
As filming has yet to begin, there is no scheduled release for the film. Sources at Morgan Creek have revealed a few details about locations being used, though. The film will be shot across Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas and Georgia — all very important locations throughout the famed rappers turbulent life. Producers maintain that the movie will closely follow the life and legacy of Pac through his rise, murder in 1996 and nearly mythic status thereafter.
