Brother Malcolm X RIP

Today while we’re off of work and school celebrating the birthdays of Washington and Lincoln, we must also remember that this day, February 21st, marks the death of a courageous advocate for the rights of African Americans, Malcolm X.

Malcolm X was the most prominent national spokesman for the Black Muslims of his time. He was widely sought as a speaker, and his debating talents against white and black opponents helped spread the movement’s message. At this time in the United States there was a major thrust for racial integration; however, Malcolm X and the Black Muslims were calling for racial separation. He believed that the civil rights gains made in America were only tokenism. To many, he was a courageous advocate for the human rights of African Americans, and he will enter the annals of American history as one of the greatest and most influential African Americans.
Today marks 46 years since his passing. RIP.
Browline glasses aka Horn Rim are a style of eyeglass frames which were very popular during the 1950s, especially in the United States. The name derives from the fact that the bold upper part of the frames frame the lenses in the same way that eyebrows frame the eyes. Sometimes, the style is referred as “Clubman” frames.[citation needed] Ray-Ban “Clubmaster” sunglasses have Browline style frames.
Browline glasses were invented in 1947 by Jack Rohrbach, then vice-president of Shuron Ltd., an eyeglass company.[1]. As of 2010, Shuron is still producing these frames, and is one of the few companies doing so.[2]
Browline glasses made up almost half of all the eyeglasses sold during the 1950s.[2]
